Behavior and Mechanics
Enrage
The Sharken's self-buffing ability when active:
- Last for 5 seconds and occurs every 10 seconds. (5s buffed period, then another 5s of no buff period and repeat.)
- Damage Resistance increased to 75% and Attack Damage increased by 50%.
- Increased attack speed and movement speed.
Melee Swipes
- The Sharken's basic melee attack. It will randomly use either the left or right claw to attack its target.
- Each attack will occur at a rate of about every one second after a swipe.
Double Hammerfists Slam
- The Sharken slams both fists into the ground creating a small damaging AoE shockwave.
- This attack only has a chance to occur when a Sharken has been aggroed by a nearby hero.

Miniboss Variant - Sharken Warlord
The Sharken Warlord is an Onslaught-exclusive miniboss version of the Sharken. It usually only spawns during the later pulses of a Sharknado lane.
- It has a significantly higher health pool than that of a regular Sharken.
- However, the miniboss doesn't have any base resistance and during enrage, it only takes half damage. This means that the Sharken Warlord will take twice as much damage compared to a regular Sharken.
Strategy
Sharkens shouldn't be too much of a problem if your defenses are strong enough. However in the event where that isn't the case, blockades and hero DPS interventions might be needed.
It's recommended for a melee hero to be very tanky before engaging with Sharkens as their hammerfists slams can be extremely deadly especially when there's a group of them clustered together.
Trivia - Dungeon Defenders 1
Sharkens originally appeared in DD1, introduced within the map of Aquanos as a new enemy type from the Quest for the Lost Eternia Shards DLCs storyline. Over there, the Sharken's design is based on a great white shark and they have the ability to charge towards a targeted clump of defenses and push them out of position.
This makes DD2's iteration a radical departure from their predecessor.
