In a few words, a pet with the highest "Damage Per Second" DPS score is a better pet.
Taking in consideration Attack Rate / Number of projectiles / Attack damage :
* A Powerful pet has a maximum of 1800 DPS.
* An Epic pet has a maximum of 2100 DPS.
* A Mythic pet has a maximum of 2800 DPS.
* A Legendary pet has a maximum of 3000 DPS.
