Elder Wyvern
They may no longer be able to fly, but these Wyverns can empower nearby enemies, granting them resistance to damage and status effects! Found in Chaos IX maps.

Behavior
Elder Wyverns are slow moving support enemies with a large health pool. These Wyverns emit an aura, buffing nearby enemies with damage resistance to all sources as well as tenacity / debuff resistance to slows and stuns. They attack with a ranged projectile and can deal high damage to both heroes and defenses if left unchecked.
Strategy
Given that the Elder Wyvern's aura grants crowd control resist and damage reduction to enemies, Towers are often used to rapidly burst down and prioritize the tanky Wyverns, removing the buff they grant to nearby enemies. A defense like the Engineer's Railgun or the Squire's Ballista would work well due to their high damage per second. Blockades may also be useful, with the Series EV2's Reflect Beam recommended to halt the Wyverns movement and reduce the damage they can do to the Blockade. Another popular solution used within the player base, although less accessible to newer players, is to use the Embermount Flames mod on the Lavamancer's Fissure of Embermount. This is best used on long laned maps like Wildest West, to allow the tick damage from the mod to take out the Wyverns.
Miniboss Variant - Ancient Wyvern
The Ancient Wyvern is a large, gold colored variant of the Elder Wyvern. Possessing even more health than its regular form, the Ancient Wyvern can survive for quite a while if not burst down effectively. Actively targeting this Miniboss with your hero can help keep it off the map.
