Sharkens originally appeared in DD1, introduced within Aquanos map as the third new enemy type from the ''Quest for the Lost Eternia Shards'' DLCs storyline. In the first gameOver there, the Sharken is based on a Great White Shark and they have the ability to charge towards a targeted clump of defenses and sweep them out of position.
This makes DD2's iteration a radical departure from their predecessor in both visual (based on a Hammerhead Shark) and ability aspects.
