The Soldier of Fortune's Uniform is the Powerful default look for the Mercenary. The "costume" is available to use as soon as you've unlocked the hero.
What this contains
The Soldier of Fortune's Uniform contains only 4 accessories, a first for a default hero costume as the rest of them always had more than the bare minimum. The garb also provides the default Mercenary card art for your hero deck.
The costume does not affect any actual weapon cosmetic as equipping any daggers will always override the Mercenary's default weapon look. Similarly to the Dryad or the Countess, one of the Mercenary's default dagger does drop as an actual weapon item - the Serrated Slicer. As for the other dagger, while one could possibly recognize it as the Bloodlord's Knife, the dagger however, is cast in a different color (matched in a similar palette to the Serrated Slicer) from the original. As this weapon does not drop as an item, achieving the Mercenary's default look when progressing is only partially possible.
(Both the garb and weapon are two separate things but together they make the default look.)

Notes and Trivia
- The Mercenary in this form was originally concepted as "The Hunter", one of 25 heroes created for DDII when the game was being developed as a MOBA before shifting its directions shortly after. About 8 years has passed before we see this hero's proper introduction into the game.
