Even the dead have rules and laws that govern them.
The Guardian of the Dead is a legendary costume for the Apprentice. Pretty much what would the Apprentice would look like should he ever give up his ghost.....and become an agent of the dead. Will he ever find peace and contentment to defend eternally? You may possibly find out by purchasing the costume for 4,800 gems from the Seamstress or in the cosmetic interface.

Notes & Trivia
- Having all of the costume's accessories being a retextured version of those from the Standard Garb, the Guardian of the Dead has the second most accessories of Apprentice costumes, after the Standard Garb.
- Due to the costume only having a single leg piece (as the feet being very ghostly and thin in texture, there isn't any point in bringing other leg accessories over since they'll barely be seen), the Guardian of the Dead also have the least accessory count among the Elemental Guardian variant costumes.
- Intriguingly, the icons of the accessories differs heavily from the actual costume - as the costume's texture are more on the translucent ghostly green, the icons instead depicts a recolor of the accessories in a mix of solid greens, the slight orange and....purples.
- The Ghastly Halberd, an Apprentice Magic Staff of ghostly proportions, is a weapon fit for the Guardian of the Dead.
- Since "death" isn't really an element, but this costume is considered to be an elemental variant, the closest element (in DDII) that can be referred to would be the poison element.
- With the cost of 4,800 gems, the Guardian of the Dead is the highest priced costume among all Apprentice costumes. Furthermore, with the other Elemental Guardian variant costumes for the combined price of 19,200 gems, which if those were to be bought at full price, it would cost around $154.94 USD, making the Elemental Guardian pseudo-set the second most expensive costume set. The first being the Crystallized Costume set, for the price of $300 USD.
