Gems are a premium currency in Dungeon Defenders 2. You can obtain 450 Gems by completing certain Adventures and 150 Gems from the Defender Pass.
They can only be obtained by purchasing them with real-life currency in the in-game shop, buying certain DLC's, or Winning them through giveaways.
Gems can be used to purchase Heroes, Shard Packs, cosmetics and other items in the Emporium.
