Enemy Behavioral Patterns

The Enemies in Dungeon Defenders 2 follow a priority list of targets within a certain range of them to determine what and when to start attacking.

In general, an enemy will attack anything within a certain aggression range of them, depending on the enemy type.

  • For ranged Enemies this range is the same as their attack range.
  • For melee Enemies it is a short range past their attack range. This range is increased when reduced below 50% health.

When an enemy enters into the range of a Sub-Core or Core, they will prioritize them over any other targets. Enemies will focus their attention on any Hero within their aggression range over other targets.

Active Fixation

The Squire is the only Hero capable of an active aggression fixation. Provoke forces any Enemies hit to fixate their attention on the squire for the duration of the ability.

Towers with Reduced Attention

Frostbite Tower and Poison Dart Tower draw a reduced amount of attention from incoming Enemies. An enemy will pick another Towers before these towers when the enemy is within range of both.

Towers with Increased Attention

Spike Blockade and Arcane Barrier draw an increased amount of attention from incoming Enemies. An enemy will pick these Towers before other towers when the enemy is within range of both.
