* This costume is one of four costumes that became an [https://terraria.gamepedia.com/Dark_Artist_armor actual armor set] in Terraria through the crossover event of ''Dungeon Defenders II meets Terraria''. Unlike the purely cosmetic costume, its counterpart in Terraria grants armor as well as two set bonus which focuses on a summoner build as to fit the flavor of Tower Defense.
* This costume has unique animations for spawning, healing, death and the casting of Mana Bomb. Aside from those, this costume even has a unique tower skin set to go with.
* The wallpaper depicts the Dark Arts Apprentice wielding the [[File:Staff_of_Ruin_Icon.png|35px]] Staff of Ruin, a mythical Magic Staff.
* This The [[File:Dark_Arts_Cleaver_Icon%27.png|35px]] Dark Arts Cleaver's design is most likely based on this Apprentice costume is one of seven costumes . Of course due to have a themed tower skin set the weapon being an axe, the Dark Arts Apprentice won't be able to go withwield it.
* Dark Arts Apprentice does seem to share a common theme with the [[Ebonfire Warlord]] Squire - both costumes are themed around being dark and evil and both also displays blazing ebonfire.
