Dungeon Defenders II is set in the fictional world of Etheria. You'll start in The Private Tavern or in The Heroes Marketplace, the outdoor HUB. This is where you'll spend any time not in battle to sell, buy, manage, trade, tinker and test any gear you've found in combat. Etheria is broken down into playable maps to explore. Each map is an arena with set enemy spawners and objectives to defend.

There are two types of Objectives for Heroes to be concerned with.  The Main Objectives or Main Cores are defense points on maps that, if destroyed, end the current map.  The Sub Objectives or Sub Cores are defense points on maps that, if destroyed, open up a new spawn point for Enemies in the next wave.

*Main Objectives can be identified by the spinning red trimmed yellow shield above them.

*Main Objectives have a Health Pool. This gets fully healed at the start of each build phase. If the Health Pool is reduced to 0, the Main Objective is destroyed.

*The players lose if the Main Objective is destroyed.

*Main Objectives are fixed for each map and wont change.

*Main Objectives have the highest target priority for the Aggression of nearby Enemies.

*Billboards for these additional spawn points do not appear until the connected Sub Objective is destroyed.

*Sub Objectives and the extra spawn points they open are fixed for each map and wont change.

Dungeon Defenders II is set in the fictional world of Etheria, specifically within the Kingdom of Dragonfall. Starting from The Private Tavern or in The Heroes Marketplace - the outdoor HUB, players will be able to head into various locations broken down into playable maps to explore and defend by accessing the Wartable.

Multiplayer Scaling

In Multiplayer some key items increase slightly per player who joins, Excluding the Host.
You can expect the following changes in Multiplayer:

 • Enemies gain, (+20%, +40%, +60%) Health, and (+10-15%, +20-30%, +30-45%) Tenacity.
 • A barely perceptible Enemy Movement Speed increase.
 • Players gain (+33%, +66%, +99%) more XP (stacks additively with other bonuses)
 • In Expedition mode, Guarantees (+2, +4, +6) additional legendary drops in Victory Chests.
 • Players with Spent AP will add their AP level for each skill together (max 10 pts per skill)

What does a map contain

Each map is an instance laid out like an arena containing lanes leading to objectives which will be required to defend.

 • Lanes
This is how most enemies travels within a map. Each lane starts from an enemy spawner and ends where an objective is. While most lanes are separated to a singular path, some lanes will converge creating a chokepoint. There are two types of enemy lanes - a ground lane for most regular enemies and a flyer lane for flying-type enemies.
 • Objectives
Objectives are the main thing to defend in every map of Dungeon Defenders 2. Each core has a specific amount of health, so they can be damaged by enemies. There are two types of objectives - the main core (game over when destroyed) and a sub-objective (opening new lanes or disabling environmental traps when destroyed). Maps can either contain only main cores or both types of objectives.
 • Environmental Traps
