The Goblin Siege Roller is a tanky mini-boss first introduced in The Dead Road campaign mission which fires rockets at players and grinds down barricades. The Siege Roller moves very slowly, but does huge amounts of damage and mows down everything in it's way.

The Siege Roller has a large amount of health and ~90% resistance from all sources from the front. It also does massive damage to all barricades, most solid towers, and Heroes from in front. The weak spot is attacking the engine behind, which does not resist damage. Use DPS heroes from behind to bring it down quickly.

As it has only one weakpoint in the back, it is not advised to ignore this miniboss. You cant alter its path to the Core but you can slow it down with any slow [[Defenses|defense] or hero Ability. Setting up projectile defenses to fire at the rear of the Roller will help take it down but shouldn't be relied on. Stuns do not stop it from firing missiles so it is usually best to just try to take it out. As a miniboss he has a very high amount of health.

It is not possible to distract the Roller from it's set path towards the crystal. While it is possible to slow and stun the Roller to some extent, crowd control is usually less effective than simply using pure DPS and strong walls. Keep repairing your barricades often when the Roller attempts to grind it down, and you can stall the Roller for as long as you have Defence Mana.

Like assassins, it is generally a good idea to stay away from objectives, as the Roller may damage the core from afar while trying to shoot down players.

Description

The Siege Roller is a Special Enemy. It is frequently found in the Chaos Expeditions, Onslaught and Incursions maps. The Roller, as it is referred to by the community as, has a normal miniboss' health total but with a 90% resistance to damage from any side except the rear where the engine is mounted, from the rear he takes double damage. It has a spiked roller in the front that does extreme damage to anything that can block it in front of it and periodically fires a set of missiles at a random hero doing very high damage. These missiles can damage defenses if the hero was near one when they were fired but they wont do any damage to Cores. Notably, he seems to have a higher than normal resistance to stuns.

Strategy

As it has only one weakpoint in the back, it is not advised to ignore this miniboss. You cant alter its path to the Core but you can slow it down with any slow [[Defenses|defense] or hero Ability. Setting up projectile defenses to fire at the rear of the Roller will help take it down but shouldn't be relied on. Stuns do not stop it from firing missiles so it is usually best to just try to take it out. As a miniboss he has a very high amount of health.
