This article lists upcoming feature and plans that Chromatic Games teases through their official social medias (like Discord or Twitch Streams etc.)

The content mentioned below have not been released yet, which means they are all subject to change at Chromatic Games' discretion.

Seas of Dragonfall

Seas of Dragonfall is the next expansion/major content update following Night of Dragonfall. As the name suggests, this expansion (with what has been revealed so far) will be aquatic-themed. The target date for release would be at the end of Q1 2024 (around end of March.)

Revealed

• A new hero called the Aquarion, she will be wielding a polearm as her weapon. ^[1]
• A Pufferfish tower which has a 360-degree target radius that rains down spikes on 10 different targets (one spike per target), poisoning them (similar to how Lavamancer's Volcano works). ^[2]
• An Artillery Crab tower that fires squids, dealing earth damage and oiling enemies up. This tower functionally prioritizes air targets. ^[3]
• A new shark enemy.
• A new boss fight (said to be really cool).
• New Defender Pass Season. ^[4]
• A new diver-themed Hunter costume.
• A new crustacean-themed Lavamancer costume
• Shard Vault. (Slated to be in this expansion unless there's a serious development hurdle.)
• A method to reroll pet elemental stats. It will involve a new possibly rare and expensive material, obtainable from pet consumable boxes and potentially survival caches. ^[5]
• A new special variant of the Betsy Pet that will only have a limited availability of one month.
• New black market items, possibly more Gold Plated Costumes for other heroes. (Best not to expect the original four returning to preserve the exclusivity for kickstarter backers.)

Beyond

• Harambe's Streamer Backpack Flair (a DD2 creator program flair).
• Pet UI modernization (to make it work with the material vault). ^[6]
• 2024 will have heavy focus on bug fixing and bringing more optimizations/stability ^[7]. With Q2 of 2024 being slated to bring a massive game-wide balance pass and hero rework/overhauls (Huntress' and Apprentice's abilities for example) ^{[8] [9]}
• Removal of the Drakenlord's bubble mechanic and appearance as a miniboss in Expeditions/early game. The Drakenlord's appearance within Drakenfrost Keep is slated to buffed into a proper boss. ^{[10] [11]}
• Addition of the Wyvern's Den incursion map to Expeditions, without the Betsy boss. ^[12]

Potential Future Update Themes

Around mid-2023, CG put up a community poll^[13] to decide on an update theme after Seas of Dragonfall. The four candidates are:

• Sky City
• Crystalline Dimension
• Carnival/Circus
• Space

It is currently unknown which theme has won the poll.
