Defender Medal Icon

Defender Medals are one of the primary currencies in Dungeon Defenders II, alongside Gems and Gold.

Introduced with the Calling All Heroes patch, Defender Medals replaced the previous Wyvern Tokens.

They are used to purchase items from NPCs, upgrading your equipment, and more.

Earning Defender Medals

  • Defender Medals can be obtained through Daily and Weekly Missions, the Defender Pass rewards, and completing maps. Typically, you earn 25 Medals per map and an additional 25 for completing your highest Onslaught floor for the first time. Resetting will allow you to earn that bonus again.
    • End of wave 1 : gain 0 Medals.
    • End of wave 2 : gain 1 Medals.
    • End of wave 3 : gain 3 Medals.
    • End of wave 4 : gain 8 Medals.
    • End of wave 5 : gain 13 Medals.
    • Total = 25 Medals.
  • If a map consists of 6 waves, you'll gain 26 Medals instead of 25.
    • End of wave 1 : gain 0 Medals.
    • End of wave 2 : gain 1 Medals.
    • End of wave 3 : gain 1 Medals.
    • End of wave 4 : gain 4 Medals.
    • End of wave 5 : gain 8 Medals.
    • End of wave 6 : gain 12 Medals.
    • Total = 26 Medals.
  • There is a daily cap of 2,000 Defender Medals per player, excluding Missions.
  • The maximum number of medals a single account can hold is 12,000; if a map is completed and a player is at the cap, they will not gain any more.
