Defender Medals are one of the primary currencies in Dungeon Defenders II, alongside Gems and Gold.
Introduced with the Calling All Heroes patch, Defender Medals replaced the previous Wyvern Tokens.
They are used to purchase items from NPCs, upgrading your equipment, and more.
Earning Defender Medals
- If a map consists of 6 waves, you'll gain 26 Medals instead of 25.
- There is a daily cap of 2,000 Defender Medals per player, excluding Missions.
- The maximum number of medals a single account can hold is 12,000; if a map is completed and a player is at the cap, they will not gain any more.
Usage
- Defender Medals can be used to purchase various items, including:
Defender Medals have multiple uses, including:
- Tinkering Mods: Spend Defender Medals to move a mod to another item, instead of gems. Main article : Tinkering
- Devolving Items: Use Defender Medals to revert items to the previous chaos level, instead of gems.
- Rerolling Godly Stats: Instead of using Gems, you can invest Defender Medals to alter the godly stat on your equipment at the Blacksmith.
- Material Conversion with the Enchantress: Utilize Defender Medals to convert materials into a different quality material.
- Upgrading, Evolving, Advancing: Spend Defender Medals to increase the levels, chaos level and rarity of your equipment. Main article : Upgrade
- Rerolling : Rather than using gold, you can use Defender Medals to reroll the primary stat of an item, or the quality level of a mod. Main article : Rerolling
- Unlocking Heroes: Instead of using gems, you can purchase new heroes for 10,000 or 12,000 if it's the newest one. Though, it is highly recommended to buy the All Heroes Bundle in the Emporium. Additionally, you have the option to buy extra hero cards.
